Nantseren is a small-scale, eco-friendly glampsite - a private space, ideal for group gatherings and retreats. 4 tents are spread along a wooded stream in a peaceful, sunny meadow, which is carefully managed to encourage native wild flowers and bio-diversity. It is off-grid, so you can switch off and get closer to nature - wake up to the dawn chorus, watch red kites soar above you, stargaze at night by the campfire. Access to the meadow is through the glamping barn (see site map). Individual, luxurious shower rooms are located in the barn (2-3 mins walk), plus seating areas for dining and lounging, and a large log burner for cosy evenings together - whatever the weather!
Nantseren is a space to reconnect with friends and family, with a combination of off-grid, outdoor experience and stylish, modern comforts in an area of outstanding national beauty.
During April and May our 3 canvas lodges are available separately as self catering accommodation, before group bookings begin. Click here for more information.
There are 3 canvas lodges, Pilipala (butterfly), Cadno (fox) and Gwdihŵ (owl - pronounced Good-ee-hoo), plus a bell tent called Draenog (hedgehog). Each tent sleeps up to 4 people on comfy beds (a double and a day bed/two singles), beautifully made up for your arrival. There are seating areas both inside and out, and by log seating by your fire-pit. Interiors are a combination of locally crafted, recycled and upcycled pieces, ethically sourced fabrics and sustainable, flexible furniture for use inside and out. There is no electricity in the tents, but solar lights and rechargeable lanterns provide eco-friendly lighting, and theres a wood-burning stove for warmth at night.
Hampers, campfire meals, pop up catering and food experiences... it's easy to enjoy fresh, local food at Nantseren - see Food & celebrations for details.
There's a well equipped kitchen in the glamping barn, with induction hobs, slow cooker, fridge freezer and tableware for your group. In addition each tent has a small covered kitchen area for simple meals, with gas stove, cool box, and a fire-pit with grill.
On arrival, there's a complementary welcome hamper with delicious, locally produced supplies for breakfast on your first morning. There's a small honesty shop in the barn - the nearest supermarket and pubs are about 6 miles away (see eat, drink and shop), so we do recommend either stocking up en route, for example in Brecon - or booking our hampers or catering options for easy, delicious feasts!
There's a stylish, heated shower room with toilet for each tent situated in the glamping barn, with powerful rainbow shower and lashings of hot water! Towels are provided, and eco-friendly toiletries. The tents are 2 or 3 minutes walk from the glamping barn.
The glamping barn is a beautifully designed, atmospheric open-plan space - big enough to socially distance if needed, but also cosy and welcoming, with a large log burner, seating areas for dining and lounging, books, games and local information. We can arrange indoor activities and workshops here - see experiences. And the occasional cinema, for rainy evenings! There's also the kitchen, shower rooms and toilets, a small honesty shop with some essentials and local produce, and a calendar to keep you informed on what's happening both on the farm and locally. Large, glazed doors let lots of light in and open onto a wooded glade with additional seating areas, leading on to the tents.
Phone reception is patchy to non-existent on the meadow, but there's (free) wifi in the barn and plenty of usb charging points and electrical sockets - our electricity is supplied using a green energy tariff.
Our beautiful wild spa is an unforgettable sensory experience. Unwind in a Scandinavian wood-fired hot tub heated by logs sustainably sourced on the farm. Its beautiful at sunset, even better after dark!
Unfortunately, because we are a working sheep farm, we can only allow guide and assistance dogs.
The glamping meadow is a vehicle-free area - parking is in front of the glamping barn, next to our farmhouse. There are wheelbarrows on hand to transport your belongings to the tent. At present due to covid 19 we would encourage self check in, though we are on hand happy to help if needed.
The terrain of the glamping meadow means unfortunately that the tents are not readily accessible for wheelchair users. One of our bathrooms is designed for accessibility, and has baby change facilities. Please contact us if you have special requirements or questions, we would like to accommodate and welcome you if possible.
Nantseren is a new glamping site - we have designed it with Covid 19 precautions at the forefront. Each tent has private facilities, and the glamping barn has a flexible open-plan layout so separate seating areas and screens for social distancing can be implemented if required, depending on the situation and guidelines in 2021. There are plenty of spaces to eat, drink and reconnect - both indoors and outdoors - in beautiful surroundings!
Book in confidence with our Covid refund policy.
